In the Fall of 2002, MeritCare committed to doing four live surgical webcasts. We invite you to watch the archive version of our four surgical webcasts, performed by Drs. Timothy Monson, Bhargav Mistry, Corey Teigen and Roxanne Newman.

On February 2, 2004, MeritCare Health System hosted a live, surgical webcast of a bypass surgery on a beating heart. The surgery took place at MeritCare in Fargo, N.D., and is currently available for viewing by the public anywhere in the world. The webcast gives the general public a rare glimpse inside the operating room to view surgery on a beating heart.(

Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy
On Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 from noon to 1 p.m., MeritCare produced a live, surgical webcast of a laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (a minimally invasive removal of a kidney for transplant.) The surgery took place at MeritCare Health System, Fargo, N.D. and is currently available for viewing by the public anywhere in the world. This will give the public a view of transplant surgery in action.

Minimally Invasive Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
On Monday, April 7, 2003, MeritCare hosted a live, surgical webcast of the minimally invasive endovascular repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). The procedure was performed by Corey Teigen, M.D., interventional radiologist, and Stephen Stromstad, M.D., vascular surgeon. (Find out more.)
Robotically Assisted Heart Surgery
On Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, the nation's first live surgical webcast of a robotically assisted heart surgery took place at MeritCare Health System, Fargo, N.D.
