Personalized Counseling for Weight Management
The treatment of eating disorders requires a special kind of care. The Eating Disorders Institute offers a full range of clinical services for adults and adolescents with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and related forms of disordered eating. MeritCare dietitians work with patients and their families to provide nutritional counseling and develop specialized meal plans.
Weight Management Classes
- Medically Managed Weight-Loss Program
MeritCare offers a medically supervised weight-loss program that is an innovative approach to weight management with the ultimate goal of becoming an “Intuitive” eater. The program includes a team with physician management, dietitians, psychology and exercise options. Meal replacements may be incorporated for some people. Nutrition Counseling for Weight Loss Surgery Program
MeritCare offers a weight-loss surgery program for the treatment of obesity. The program is specifically designed to help you successfully prepare for healthy eating before and after surgery. Listed below are the nutrition education opportunities provided by MeritCare dietitians to assist patients who are participating in this program.
- New Weigh of Life
A series of classes for patients seeking bariatric surgery. This class is designed to help people with establish lifelong eating and activity habits before and after bariatric surgery. For more information, call (701) 234-2245.
Next Step Program
The New Step Program is a psychoeducation/nutrition program for bariatric patients who have been out of surgery for at least three months. This program helps you make healthy lifestyle changes by providing psychoeducation, coping skills, feedback and peer support needed for long-term success and weight management.
