Cardiovascular Outreach
MeritCare's Emergency Heart Network helps outlying hospitals in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota deliver state-of-the-art cardiovascular care. MeritCare has numerous network sites in the region and supports these areas through education, air ambulance services and 24-hour access to a cardiologist/cardiovascular nurse.
Cardiologists travel to outlying communities to provide physician outreach. This allows patients to be seen by heart specialists in their home communities. Cardiologists currently provide outreach in several communities. Our directory provides a complete list.
Telemedicine
One of the other ways we help support our network is through telemedicine, which allows for interactive, two-way audio and video conferencing, education and consultation on patients. MeritCare cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons can provide consultation and education for patients without the patient needing to travel to Fargo.
