From the moment you are diagnosed, you are a survivor. Family, friends and caregivers who are impacted by cancer, you are survivors. Cancer survivors face may long-lasting emotional, physical and financial effects. MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center is proud to announce its program to help address these concerns, by connecting, educating and empowering survivors. Embrace life, embrace each other and embrace the future.

My Cancer Experience

It is important to gather all the pertinent health information, both personal and medical, that you will need during your cancer treatment and beyond. Having everything together, in one organized place, makes the treatment process much easier and is one less thing for you to worry about.

Side Effects of Cancer

Beyond fighting the cancer, the short and long-term effects of the disease and the treatment of it can lead to many unexpected issues. While some of them are temporary, others have a lasting impact on your overall health. It is important to understand some of the side-effects you may be faced with as well as give you information on how to help manage them.

Practical Help

While you are undergoing cancer treatment, you may need transportation assistance, lodging, or in-home help. There are many helpful resources dedicated to making this part of the journey easier for you so that you can focus on getting healthy.

Healthy Behaviors

With a cancer diagnosis, many people are motivated to change their lifestyle and make healthier choices. This may be the best time to think about your overall health. Quitting smoking, eating healthier, using sunscreen, and exercising are all habits that a cancer diagnosis should help motivate you to do.
