Social Services
The diagnosis and treatment of cancer can create many new feelings, concerns and questions. Our social services staff helps patients and their families deal with the changes and stresses that often accompany cancer, and provides the information and support they need to make better decisions.
Our social worker is also available to:
- Provide individual and family counseling when medical problems cause worry and stress, when everyday personal and family concerns become magnified by illness and when coping with cancer becomes overwhelming.
- Help families find financial resources and provide information on available programs and services.
- Assist with aftercare when patients leave the Center and need special equipment, planning, home care or different living arrangements.
- Advocate for patients and families who have concerns about insurance coverage, clinic policies, eligibility for various programs, legal issues or any other questions that seem difficult to answer.
- Arrange for referrals to community services when assistance is needed in selecting community resources for ongoing services and support.
For more information, please contact our social worker at (701) 234-6486 or (701) 234-6161.
