CARE

Understanding Speech Language Pathology

Speech-language pathologists are a vital part of MeritCare's rehabilitation team providing speech-language and cognitive and dysphagia treatment to individuals in the hospital, clinic and home setting. They provide treatment for many medical and speech diagnoses.

Services Provided

Many adult therapy programs are available to meet the needs of patients experiencing speech language disorders.

Team Approach to Care

Care is provided by licensed master's level speech-language pathologists who are certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). The pathologists have advanced training in a variety of treatment approaches. They work closely with other medical professionals and members of the rehabilitation team to help people return to work and school.
