Individual Education Plans
Introduction
The individual education plan (IEP) provides the driving force behind planning the entire educational program for students with special needs.
- For the student, the IEP is an educational map used to guide the educational services they will receive.
- For the family members, it is a contract between the family and the school for the delivery of educational services for their child.
Because each child is different, each IEP must be different to ensure that it meets the unique needs of that student. Such differences are particularly important when working with students with acquired brain injury.
