11.2.2009Following approval by their Boards of Trustees, South Dakota-based Sanford Health (Sanford) and North Dakota-based MeritCare Health System (MeritCare) today announced the two organizations have merged to become one of the country's largest integrated health care systems. The new System will strengthen health care in the region by expanding services, research, education and access to care.

11.2.2009Today the board of trustees for Fargo, N.D. based MeritCare approved a definitive agreement to merge with Sioux Falls, S.D. based Sanford Health. Sanford's board approved the merger last week. The two organizations are now formally one.

10.26.2009Today, Monday, Oct. 26, tickets go on sale for the 25th annual MeritCare Festival of Wreaths. The event takes place Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Ramada Plaza Suites Crystal Ballroom, Fargo. Events include English Tea, Girls' Night Out, shopping, breakfast and lunch events with Santa, a formal gala, and more. Proceeds from this year's event will be used by MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center to fund embrace – a survivorship program to help patients facing cancer find hope within each other.
