MeritCare Detroit Lakes Announces Major Expansion and Remodel

MeritCare Detroit Lakes is announcing a 33,000 square foot expansion and 28,800 square foot remodel of the existing clinic. The project will more than double the size of the clinic and is expected to be completed by 2011.

Sanford and MeritCare Create A New Health System

Following approval by their Boards of Trustees, South Dakota-based Sanford Health (Sanford) and North Dakota-based MeritCare Health System (MeritCare) today announced the two organizations have merged to become one of the country's largest integrated health care systems. The new System will strengthen health care in the region by expanding services, research, education and access to care.

Today the board of trustees for Fargo, N.D. based MeritCare approved a definitive agreement to merge with Sioux Falls, S.D. based Sanford Health. Sanford's board approved the merger last week. The two organizations are now formally one.
