2002 Children's Miracle Network Celebration Sets New Record!
The 18th Annual Children's Miracle Network Celebration was held on Saturday, June 1, at NDSU and MeritCare Children's Hospital and was broadcast state-wide in North Dakota and in western Minnesota. The final total at the 2002 Celebration was $506,186 ... the most we have ever raised at the Celebration! These funds will support research, equipment purchases and services for families and kids at MeritCare Children's Hospital. A big "thank you" to everyone who helped make this a successful event!
Hosts, kids, phone volunteers and even the therapy dogs celebrate the final recordbreaking total of $506,186 raised by this year's Celebration.
The Roos twins of Fargo (Nick and Alex) model the hats that were too big for them when they were born at MeritCare seven years ago. The twins' mom, Mary, explains that they weighed around one pound each at birth.
Josh Leppert, UND student and organizer of the UND Dance Marathon, takes a pledge. UND students raised over $5,500 for MeritCare Children's Hospital.
Wilbur the Pig from Famous Dave's Bar-b-que made a surprise appearance at the Celebration and got the volunteers dancing!
