More than a century ago, our founders Dr. Olaf Sand and Dr. Nils Tronnes dramatically demonstrated what it means to identify a community need, then link with like-minded others to meet it. Their shared vision for better health led to the 1908 opening of St. Luke's Hospital. Today, as MeritCare Health System, we follow the same path. Our mission "to improve the health and quality of life of the people we serve", demands we deliver high quality medical care — and more.
