Public Telephones
Phone cards are sold at MeritCare Gifts, near the main entrance at both hospitals.
Locations:
- First floor main lobby, near the Clinic Walkway
- Lower level, near Mills Avenue Pharmacy
- Lower level, near the Emergency Center
- Near the main lobby at South University
Mobile Telephones
Mobile phone usage by patients and visitors is limited to certain areas within MeritCare facilities. Ask your nurse or call Guest Services at (701) 234-5524 for information on where phone use is permitted.
Consumer Health & Business Center
Located on the first floor, north wing, along Main Street, the Consumer Health & Business Center provides health information to patients and visitors to help them make informed health decisions.
Security
Security Services is available to jump-start vehicles and to assist if you lock your keys in your vehicle. They can also provide escorts for family members walking to nearby hotels.
Food, Coffee, Soda and Snacks
- Prairie Mill Café food court is open 24 hours daily, on the lower level. Foods, snacks and beverages are served.
- Daily Perk coffee bar, within Prairie Mill Café, sells coffee, tea, specialty drinks and pastries. Hours of operation:
- Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Saturday: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Bean Cuisine coffee bar, in the main lobby, offers hot and cold espresso drinks, coffees, teas and sodas, as well as homemade pastries. Hours of operation:
- MeritCare Fargo Downtown Campus: 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Sunday & holidays.
- MeritCare Fargo South University Campus: 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday and closed weekends & holidays.
- Soda and snack vending machines are located throughout the hospital.
Family Rooms
Quiet areas for family and visitors, who need a place to rest and relax, are found near patient rooms and in several other locations in the hospital. Rooms are open 24 hours daily and may be staffed part-time by volunteers. Most rooms provide coffee.
Siesta Suite
Family members who need to rest, sleep for a short time, or freshen-up should contact Guest Services at (701) 234-5524 about use of the Siesta Suite where they will find comfortable furniture, a bathroom and shower.
