Lee Silverman Voice Treatment
The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) is designed to be cognitively simple to the learner. It emphasizes a single parameter–think loud–and involves calibration of the patient's sense of vocal effort and loudness.
Treatment Provider Team
This intense vocal treatment includes the following health care providers:
- Neurologist or other referring physician
- Otolaryngologist/ENT
- Speech-Language Pathologists
Schedule of Treatment
LSVT is provided on an outpatient basis including:
- four times a week for one month
- 16 sessions lasting approximately 50-60 minutes
- an intense home program
LSVT is designed to increase vocal loudness, resulting in overall speech improvement. MeritCare is the only facility in North Dakota that has this treatment available and currently has 4 clinicians LSVT certified.
