Imaging
Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiogram (CCTA)
MeritCare Heart Center has a 64-slice CT with the ability to perform cardiac testing. CCTA is a non-invasive test offering a 3-D picture of the heart's structure and coronary arteries. These sophisticated scans check the blood flow through the arteries that supply the heart muscle with the oxygen needed to function. CCTA is used to determine if blockage exists and if further treatment is necessary. Medication is taken prior to the test to control the patient's heart rate.
Vascular Lab
With the Vascular Lab test are performed to analyze circulatory problems. Both the arteries and veins in the arms, neck, legs and abdomen can be tested. These are painless, non-invasive tests, which use ultrasound to produce images and waveforms. These tests may reveal abnormalities such as blood clots and blockages that may restrict circulations.
Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
A non-invasive imaging technique, PET provides a painless alternative to identify heart disease and determine the best course of treatment.
